4K & 8K CCTV Camera Installers in Lincolnshire
Ultra high definition CCTV captures up to 16 times the detail of standard 1080p. Enough to identify a face at distance and to zoom into recorded footage without losing it.

General Awareness vs. Forensic Detail
Standard 1080p CCTV is excellent for general monitoring. If a camera is pointing down a narrow hallway or directly at a doorway, 1080p gives you all the clarity you need.
But standard HD has a limit: distance.
When a standard camera tries to cover a large driveway, a wide storefront, or a massive warehouse floor, its pixels get stretched too thin. If you try to zoom in on a face or a license plate thirty feet away, the image pixels break apart.
That is where 4K and 8K Ultra-HD change the game.
- Standard 1080p (2 Megapixels): Perfect for close-range areas, doorways, and small rooms where subjects are already near the camera.
- 4K Ultra-HD (8 Megapixels): Delivers 4x the detail of standard HD. Built for wide outdoor spaces, large yards, and parking areas where you need to zoom in later.
- 8K Ultra-HD (33 Megapixels): Delivers 16x the detail of standard HD. Intended for high-security commercial sites requiring extreme, long-range forensic clarity.
We fit ultra high definition cameras on CCTV systems for homes and commercial CCTV across Lincolnshire, specified camera by camera around what each one needs to see.

What Our Clients Say
The Benefits of Upgrading to 4K or 8K CCTV
This is what the extra detail buys you, and where on a property you’ll notice it.
On a house, that’s the drive and the front door. On a shop, the till and the entrance. Those are the positions we’d put 4K on first, before spreading it anywhere else.
Recognising People, Not Just Movement
Doorways, tills, receptions and gates, and anywhere the camera has to sit well back from what it’s watching. High eaves, long driveways, wide forecourts.
Fewer Cameras, Wider Coverage
One ultra HD camera can often cover ground that would have taken two lower-resolution cameras. This can mean less cabling, fewer fixings and a tidier installation overall.
Going Back Through Old Footage
Detail you didn’t know you needed. Crop deep into the corner of a recorded frame weeks after an incident, and the details, like a vehicle registration or a tool in a suspect’s hand, stay remain sharp.
Smarter Analytics & Fewer False Alerts
High-resolution feeds give modern intruder detection software pixel-perfect clarity. Your system can easily tell the difference between a real trespasser and a passing shadow, cutting out annoying false alerts on your phone.
4K vs. 8K: Which One Do You Need?
Both are ultra high definition. The difference is how much detail each one captures, and what that asks of your storage, your lighting and your choice of camera.
| 4K Ultra-HD | 8K Ultra-HD | |
|---|---|---|
| Best Suited For | Large domestic driveways, retail storefronts, and general business perimeter security. | High-security commercial sites, massive logistics yards, and crowded public spaces. |
| The Main Benefit | Gives you 4x the zoom capability of standard HD without losing clarity. | Gives you 16x the zoom capability. You can read a registration plate from incredible distances. |
| Low-Light Performance | Excellent. Modern 4K sensors handle twilight and dark yards exceptionally well. | Requires good lighting. Because the pixels are so tiny, they need strong ambient or infrared light to see clearly at night. |
| Storage & Network Impact | Manageable. Works smoothly with modern recording drives and standard business broadband. | Massive. Requires specialized high-capacity recorders and dedicated network setups to handle the heavy data. |
| Our Recommendation | The ideal, cost-effective sweet spot for 90% of homes and businesses looking for forensic detail. | Reserved for specialist commercial applications where extreme distance tracking is non-negotiable. |

SSAIB Certified Installation
SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board) certification means our work is inspected by an independent body against recognised standards.
That covers the design as well as the fitting. With ultra high definition that matters, because the design is where the decisions get made; what resolution each position needs, what lens goes on it, and how much storage the system will take.
We design and fit to the relevant British Standards. You’ll have each camera’s position and expected coverage in writing before anything is ordered, so you can see what every camera on the quote is meant to deliver.
How it Works
We’d rather show you what a camera will actually see than talk in megapixels. That starts with a visit and finishes with a written quote.
Free Site Survey
We walk the property, look at what you need to identify and where the light comes from, and work out which positions justify the higher resolution.
Plan and Quote
Your quote sets out each camera, its resolution, the lens, expected coverage and retention, so you can see exactly where the money is going.
Installation Day
We install on a date that suits you, set each camera up against what it’s meant to cover, and show you how to find and export footage.
Frequently Asked Questions About Ultra HD CCTV
You may have a few questions before installing Ultra HD cameras, so we’ve answered the ones we’re asked most often below.
What’s the real difference between 4K and 1080p?
About four times the detail, or roughly eight megapixels against two.
In practice that’s the difference between seeing that someone approached your door and being able to describe them afterwards. It matters most at distance, and least on a camera watching a small area from close up.
Do I actually need 8K?
In most cses, no.
For nearly every property we look at, 4K at the points where detail matters gives better usable footage than a higher resolution spread everywhere. If you’ve a specific reason for wanting it, we’ll talk it through rather than talk you out of it.
Will ultra high definition cameras work with my existing recorder?
It depends on the recorder.
Older NVRs often can’t handle the throughput from several 4K cameras at once, and 8K asks considerably more again. The result is dropped frames rather than an error message, so we’ll check what yours can take before recommending anything.
Does higher resolution use up storage faster?
Yes, and by quite a bit.
Bigger files mean the same drive holds fewer days, and 8K multiplies that again. It’s a straightforward trade-off between detail and retention, and one to settle at the quote stage rather than discover a month later.
Is ultra high definition worse at night?
It can be, yes.
Squeezing more pixels onto the same sensor leaves each one less light to work with. That means a well-made 1080p camera sometimes beats a cheap 4K one after dark.
The effect is even bigger again at 8K.
Sensor size, lens and lighting all matter, which is why we look at your property before specifying.
Can I mix resolutions across one system?
Yes, and most systems end up that way.
Detail where you need to identify someone, general coverage elsewhere. It keeps the cost sensible and the storage manageable without giving anything up where it counts.
Do I need new cables for ultra high definition?
Often not.
Existing cable can frequently carry 4K, and coax can be reused with converters on many upgrades.
8K is more demanding, so it’s worth checking.
Either way it depends on the runs and their condition, which is a survey question.
Will ultra high definition read number plates?
Sometimes, at the right angle and distance, and 8K improves the odds.
But a general-purpose camera isn’t designed for the job. If capturing plates reliably is the point, ANPR cameras are built for it and will do it better.

Installing 4K and 8K Cameras All Over Lincolnshire
We install across the county, and the light is a bigger factor than most people expect. Coastal glare near Skegness and Mablethorpe, unlit approaches around Louth and the Wolds, and headlights sweeping shopfronts in Lincoln and Grantham all change what a camera can usefully capture. That’s why we’d rather look at the property than quote from a camera count.
